Ireland did voted to enter the EU in 1973 back when it was a simple trade federation.
The Nice and Lisbon treatise were voted against twice and the people of Ireland were told to vote again(correctly). As a result Ireland is overrun with hundreds of thousands of eastern europeans(cheapo labour).
