This is the number one stance that I encounter with Christians when they push back against us. Basically what you are saying can be assigned a very accurate analogy, here goes: You could be on LSD and telling people that the sky is purple, you see it as such and therefore to you its the truth. While the sky is in fact not purple you go around swearing that it is and that in order to see it you need to drop acid too. So you deny that the sky is blue because you are only seeing it as purple because of your LSD induced trip. Just because people don’t see things the way you do doesn’t make your world view “the truth”.

To add to the Christianity’s vows of poverty, I work for a Christian family who constantly plead poverty. They wear dishevelled clothes, drive cars that are basically scrap and eat food that is out of date and donated to them by a local shop, The thing is, they own multiple houses and land that must be worth millions. The mother even cheated a man’s son out of inheriting his father’s farm. She nursed him during the last years of his life in exchange for the entire farm, nothing went to the son. I don’t know if Charlie has mentioned this in any other of his podcasts, but in the in the Roman Empire during the reign of Augustus, Christian priests encouraged people to spy on their neighbours and inform the authorities if they saw any pagan practises.
